Steam’s new Big Art Mode is a lovely visual upgrade for my living room setup
Valve has rolled out Big Art Mode, a visual enhancement to Steam’s Big Picture Mode that prioritizes game artwork presentation. The new interface feature displays a massive, full-size version of each game’s key art positioned as a background layer behind the standard large art icon, creating a more visually prominent and engaging browsing experience.
Big Art Mode has emerged from beta testing with the latest Steam client release. Users can enable the feature through the Steam client by navigating to Settings > Home while in Big Picture Mode. The functionality has also been integrated into Steam Deck, with official documentation appearing in the device’s latest update notes.
The enhancement is designed for users operating Steam on living room PCs and dedicated home entertainment hardware, where visual presentation and interface aesthetics play an outsized role in the user experience. By enlarging and emphasizing game artwork, Big Art Mode transforms the Big Picture Mode interface into a more visually immersive environment for browsing and discovering titles on larger displays.
