Review: Toy Story: Retro Roundup! + Toy Story 3 Complete Edition (Xbox) - A Welcome Trip Down Memory Lane
The release of Toy Story: Retro Roundup! + Toy Story 3 Complete Edition marks a significant moment for retro game availability on modern platforms. On Xbox, the collection is particularly noteworthy as it represents the first appearance of multiple classic titles on the platform, including the original Toy Story, Toy Story 2, A Bug’s Life, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, and Toy Story Racer, along with several Game Boy releases. The PS5 version features a comparable selection of games from the franchise’s early days, providing PlayStation players with similar nostalgic content. The bundle also includes Toy Story 3 Complete Edition.
While reviewers acknowledge that not all titles in the collection meet contemporary quality standards, the compilation delivers considerable nostalgic value and sufficient content depth to justify its cost. The collection successfully preserves a notable chapter in gaming history, allowing younger players to experience these classic licensed games while offering longtime fans a convenient means of revisiting their childhood favorites. The multi-platform release demonstrates continued interest in retro gaming collections and the enduring appeal of the Toy Story franchise across generations.
