Remedy Boss Reacts After Control Resonant Sells 1 Million Copies, Becoming Studio’s Fastest-Selling Game
Control Resonant, the latest title from Finnish developer Remedy Entertainment, has reached one million copies sold in just three weeks following its September 24, 2026 release. The game’s rapid success marks it as Remedy’s fastest-selling title in the studio’s 31-year history, surpassing its previous record holder, Alan Wake 2, which took approximately two months to achieve the same sales figure.
Remedy announced the milestone on October 15, with communications director Thomas Puha commenting that it represented “a strong start.” The achievement is particularly notable given Control Resonant’s launch during an exceptionally crowded PlayStation 5 release schedule, yet the game managed to secure significant player adoption despite the increased competition.
The success is especially impressive considering the game faced piracy challenges following its digital release, with unauthorized copies circulating through online channels. Despite these obstacles, the commercial performance demonstrates strong consumer demand.
The accelerated sales compared to Alan Wake 2 may be partly attributed to Alan Wake 2’s previous PC exclusivity on the Epic Games Store, which likely limited its initial market reach. Control Resonant’s broader platform availability appears to have contributed to its faster commercial penetration, allowing the game to cut through the noise of a busy release schedule.
