When Will Fortnite Servers Be Back Up? Fortnite October 15 Downtime, Explained
Fortnite servers will be offline on October 15, 2026, for a scheduled maintenance window as Epic Games deploys the second half of the Fortnitemares event. The downtime is set to begin at 4 AM ET, with servers expected to return within two to three hours based on typical update patterns.
Fortnitemares continues the game’s established two-week content update cycle, bringing fresh seasonal content and limited-time events to the battle royale. On Saturday, October 17, players can participate in Fortnitemares power hours, a special event period with increased drop rates for Trick or Treat sprites. During these power hours, all players will spawn with Freddy’s Nightmare, the exclusive drop from the Freddy Krueger boss encounter, while Trick or Treat variant sprites appear with greater frequency.
The power hours event features enhanced loot opportunities, with 1-Up tokens and portable extractors available from chests at increased rates. This limited-time event window gives players an opportunity to complete their Trick or Treat sprite collections more efficiently, exemplifying Fortnite’s engagement strategy through regular content cycles, special events, and limited-time cosmetic drops.
