Hitman: Absolution Finally Sneaks Onto Switch 2 Next Week
Hitman: Absolution is making its debut on Nintendo Switch 2, arriving on October 22, 2026. Nearly a year after the original Nintendo Switch release, this enhanced version brings several technical improvements tailored for the new hardware. The Switch 2 edition features mouse compatibility, a higher resolution, and a new performance mode designed to deliver 60 frames per second in both handheld and docked modes.
To incentivize early adoption, IO Interactive is offering a free upgrade path for players who already own the Switch version. This promotional period extends until November 5, 2026, after which the upgrade pack will cost $9.99 USD (€4.99 or £4.99). This pricing structure encourages existing players to transition to the enhanced version while allowing new players to purchase the full game separately on the eShop.
The release represents the stealth-action franchise’s continued expansion onto Nintendo hardware, bringing one of the acclaimed Hitman trilogy’s numbered entries to Switch 2 owners.
