Riot Unveils $100,000 Support Package for VCT 2027 EMEA Kickoff Qualifiers
Riot Games has announced a $100,000 financial support package for teams that successfully qualify for the VCT 2027 Kickoff tournament through the Open Qualifiers format. The VCT 2027 EMEA Kickoff Qualifiers, beginning in November, mark the first EMEA Open Qualifiers in the restructured Valorant Champions Tour circuit, providing a pathway for non-partnered teams to compete at the highest level.
The qualifiers will determine four of the twelve spots available at the VCT 2027 Kickoff tournament, with the remaining eight positions reserved for selected Partnered Teams whose identities are yet to be announced. Beyond the Kickoff event, Riot Games is extending financial support to non-partnered teams that qualify for other Valorant Champions Tour Tier 1 competitions, including VCT Cups and the global Masters and Champions tournaments.
This initiative represents a significant shift in the VCT structure, opening opportunities for emerging teams to gain direct access to premium events while receiving substantial financial backing. The support package aims to offset travel, preparation, and operational costs for qualifying teams, leveling the competitive playing field and encouraging broader participation in the revamped circuit.
