The best AR glasses you can buy just got a major display upgrade

XREAL announced the XREAL 1 Pro+, an upgraded version of its AR glasses featuring a significant display improvement. The new model increases brightness from 700 to 1,200 nits, addressing a key limitation of AR displays when used in bright environments. The upgrade also brings enhanced image quality refinements compared to the previous generation.

The XREAL 1 Pro+ maintains the design principles of its predecessor, the XREAL One Pro, retaining a 57-degree field of view and support for 3DoF (three degrees of freedom) head tracking. These specifications position the glasses for use with mobile and spatial computing applications.

The brightness upgrade is particularly significant for the AR glasses category, as display legibility in outdoor and bright indoor environments has been a persistent challenge. Doubling the brightness from 700 to 1,200 nits represents a substantial leap in usability. XREAL has built a product ecosystem around its glasses, including the Beam Pro accessory that adds Android app support to its AR devices, expanding their utility beyond media consumption.
