Cody Rhodes Names WWE Superstars Who’d Do Well in a Real Street Fighter Tournament

Professional wrestler and actor Cody Rhodes has discussed which WWE Superstars would excel in a real-life Street Fighter tournament, following his appearance as Guile in the newly released Street Fighter film. The movie marks a significant crossover between professional wrestling and the iconic fighting game franchise, featuring multiple WWE talent.

In addition to Rhodes’ role as Guile, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns appears in the film as Akuma, one of Street Fighter’s most recognizable characters. The roster also includes former New Japan Pro-Wrestling IWGP World Champion Hirooki Goto, who portrays E. Honda.

During an interview with Brandon Davis, Rhodes evaluated current WWE Superstars based on their potential competitive performance in a hypothetical Street Fighter-style tournament. Jacob Fatu emerged as a standout candidate, with Rhodes comparing his physical attributes and fighting style to Blanka, Street Fighter’s fierce Brazilian fighter known for animalistic combat techniques. Dominik Mysterio, son of WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, was also highlighted as someone who would perform strongly in such a competition.

The crossover demonstrates the continued intersection of professional wrestling and gaming entertainment, with established wrestlers leveraging their physical prowess and martial arts credibility to appeal to gaming audiences. The feature film capitalizes on Street Fighter’s enduring popularity while introducing wrestling personalities to the franchise’s dedicated fanbase.
