Control Resonant becomes the fastest-selling game in Remedy’s history, outpacing Alan Wake 2 and the original Control

Remedy Entertainment’s latest game, Control Resonant, has become the fastest-selling title in the Finnish studio’s 31-year history, selling over 1 million copies in just three weeks following its September 24 release. The achievement marks a significant commercial success for the developer, surpassing previous bestsellers including Alan Wake 2 and the original Control.

The action RPG received largely positive critical reception upon launch. The game follows protagonist Dylan Faden as he navigates a twisted version of New York while working for the Federal Bureau of Control, on a mission to find his missing sister Jesse—the protagonist of the original 2019 game.

The milestone is particularly impressive given that Control Resonant launched during an unusually crowded September release schedule, suggesting strong consumer demand for the title. Remedy CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon, who took over leadership in February, described the sales performance as a “very strong start” for the company.

While Remedy did not disclose platform-specific sales data or break down digital versus physical sales figures, the rapid path to 1 million units sold represents significant validation of the franchise’s continued appeal and the studio’s ability to deliver commercially successful titles.
