Rockstar Mods Real Life Vehicles to Look Like GTA 6 Cars Before Driving Them Through Miami
Rockstar Games has launched an ambitious marketing campaign for Grand Theft Auto 6 in Miami, featuring real-world vehicles modified to resemble in-game cars from the upcoming title. The campaign involves several authentically modified vehicles, including a Lamborghini police car styled after the game’s VCPD (Vice City Police Department), a McLaren designed to look like the Progen Emerus, and representations of vehicles like the Cheetah, Coquette D10, Tempesta, and Manana. The modified cars displayed Leonida license plates—the fictional license plates featured in GTA 6’s fictionalized Florida setting—and were driven through Miami in an organized convoy.
This marketing push is part of a larger promotional effort by Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two Interactive ahead of the game’s November 19, 2026 launch. Previous campaigns have included a Vice City-themed blimp and a stadium takeover, effectively transforming Miami into a real-life version of the game’s fictional Vice City. The campaign capitalizes on significant public anticipation, with reports indicating that workers have been booking days off in advance of the release, suggesting the game is expected to be a record-breaker for the industry.
The scale and audacity of the real-world vehicle modifications underscore Rockstar’s confidence in GTA 6’s commercial potential and reflect the franchise’s enduring cultural significance in gaming.
