Beloved Fantasy Novel Series Redwall Sets Return After 16 Years

The Redwall series, the beloved fantasy novel franchise created by Brian Jacques, is making a long-awaited return after 16 years. A 23rd book in the series has been announced, titled Orphans of Mossflower, which will release on September 7, 2027. This marks the first new installment since The Rogue Crew was published in 2011, just three months after Jacques’ death.

The new book’s release coincides with the 40th anniversary of the series, which was first published in the United Kingdom in 1986 and in the United States a year later. To celebrate this milestone, a new boxed set containing all 22 existing novels in the series will also be released on the same date as the new book.

The original Redwall series became a cherished staple of fantasy literature over its 25-year run from 1986 to 2011, captivating generations of readers with its immersive world-building and compelling characters. Long-speculated by fans about a potential continuation, the announcement of Orphans of Mossflower ends an extended hiatus for one of fantasy’s most beloved franchises and signals a revival of Jacques’ enduring legacy.
