The Blood of Dawnwalker Update 1.1 adds an easier Story mode, a respec potion and animal petting

The Blood of Dawnwalker Update 1.1 is set to launch next week with several notable additions and improvements. Rebel Wolves has announced a new Story mode featuring additional combat assist options, making the game more accessible to players seeking an easier experience. The current Story mode will be rebadged as “Forgiving” difficulty.

The update introduces a respec potion mechanic, allowing players to forget their learned abilities and reallocate skill points to pursue alternative builds. In a quirky addition, the patch adds directional animal petting functionality—a feature that mirrors the game’s distinctive directional combat system from Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Players will be able to pet both dogs and cats with context-sensitive animations.

Beyond these headline features, Update 1.1 brings over 1,100 quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes. Combat targeting receives refinements, alongside adjustments to camera controls and traversal mechanics. A FrameGen update is included, addressing performance optimization. The Japanese version on Steam will also receive uncensored blood and gore options.

The comprehensive patch reflects developer feedback and represents a significant content and stability update for the vampire RPG.
