Call Of Duty On Switch 2 Has Two Different Upscaling Options
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has launched early access on Nintendo Switch 2 for pre-order customers, with full multiplayer arriving on October 23rd, 2026. The game offers two distinct upscaling options within its Graphics settings to give players flexibility in how they experience the title on the hybrid console.
The first option is Nvidia’s DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling), an AI-powered upscaling technology that uses machine learning to intelligently increase resolution while maintaining visual quality. The second is Infinity Ward’s proprietary “Filmic SMAA T2X” solution, the studio’s in-house anti-aliasing approach for image enhancement.
Providing both upscaling methods allows Switch 2 players to choose based on personal preference, with each option potentially offering different trade-offs between visual fidelity and performance stability. This dual-option approach reflects developers’ efforts to optimize the experience for the console’s hybrid form factor and varying user priorities, whether prioritizing image quality or frame rate consistency.
