Disney In Talks With Multiple Studios For Star Wars Battlefront 3, It’s Claimed
Disney and Lucasfilm are actively seeking developers for Star Wars Battlefront 3, according to reports from Electronic Gaming Monthly sourced to the renowned rumor-monger Quarterman. Two studios have emerged as primary contenders: EA DICE, which developed the previous two mainline Battlefront games released in 2015 and 2017, and Bungie, the Sony-owned developer behind the Halo, Destiny, and recently launched Marathon franchises.
The move signals Disney’s commitment to reviving the dormant Star Wars shooter franchise, which has lacked a major mainline entry for nearly a decade. Battlefront fans have been waiting over 20 years for a third major installment, with the franchise’s last significant release being 2017’s Star Wars Battlefront II.
While EA DICE represents a continuity option given their proven track record with the series, Bungie’s involvement would mark an intriguing departure, potentially bringing fresh vision and development expertise to the franchise. No official confirmation has been made by Disney, Lucasfilm, or either developer studio at this time.
