Supercell has completed its acquisition of Merge Mansion maker Metacore

Supercell, the Finnish mobile game publisher, has completed its acquisition of Metacore Games, the developer behind the popular puzzle game Merge Mansion. The deal was finalized on October 19, 2026, with Metacore confirming the news through a LinkedIn announcement, stating that its game team has officially become “Supercellians.”

The acquisition adds Merge Mansion to Supercell’s portfolio of mobile games. Supercell indicated that the Metacore team will continue developing the game with the goal of returning it to chart-topping status. The game had previously achieved significant success in mobile charts but may have seen a recent decline in performance or rankings.

While the completion of the acquisition was announced publicly, Supercell did not disclose the financial terms of the deal. This follows a pattern common in the gaming industry where acquisition prices are often kept confidential unless required by public disclosure regulations.

The acquisition represents Supercell’s continued strategy of acquiring proven game developers and IP, adding to its existing portfolio which includes titles like Clash of Clans and Brawl Stars. For Metacore, joining Supercell provides access to the publisher’s resources and expertise in live-service game development.
