Witcher 3 Switch 2 patch rolls out today with a number of changes, including alterations to resolution and “visual clarity”
CD Projekt Red has released Version 5.01 update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered, with particular improvements targeting the Nintendo Switch 2 version. The patch addresses a primary complaint from players regarding visual quality, implementing adjustments to image sharpening and resolution settings to “improve visual clarity and fidelity,” especially for handheld play where the game had appeared noticeably blurry.
Beyond visual enhancements, the update also modifies the game’s lighting to reduce excess brightness that has been a point of contention since the Remastered edition’s late September launch. The patch encompasses additional gameplay tweaks and UI improvements across the board, with the Switch 2 version receiving particular attention to resolve launch-related bugs.
The update began rolling out in most regions today, though the developer notes that the Japanese version remains pending certification. This targeted update reflects the ongoing refinement of the Remastered release and CD Projekt Red’s commitment to addressing player feedback on platform-specific performance and visual presentation.
