Abiotic Factor’s second year of updates confirmed to include official mod support and a DLC taking science to the tropics

Following its successful 1.0 launch in July 2025, the Half-Life-inspired sci-fi survival game Abiotic Factor from developer Deep Field has announced its year two roadmap, confirming updates through 2027.

The roadmap features three major pillars: comprehensive community mod support, a winter update with smaller quality-of-life additions, and the previously teased paid DLC expansion titled Entropic Break. The official mod support represents a significant feature, including a dedicated free mod launcher, proprietary tools for mod creation, and an integrated mod browser for sharing mods and hosting modded game instances.

The DLC expansion, Entropic Break, will expand the game’s setting to tropical environments, bringing new scientific scenarios to explore. This paid expansion signals the developer’s commitment to expanding the game’s content alongside free updates.

Since its transition from early access, Abiotic Factor has maintained positive momentum with consistent post-launch updates. The addition of official mod support is particularly noteworthy as it legitimizes and streamlines community creativity, potentially extending the game’s lifespan and engagement through player-created content. Deep Field’s commitment to supporting the game through 2027 demonstrates confidence in the title’s long-term viability and community interest.
