Pixel Art RPG ‘Drova’ Is Getting A Switch 2 Sequel Next Year

Just2D and publisher Deck13 have announced that a sequel to the 2024 pixel art RPG Drova: Forsaken Kin is in development. Titled Drova II - Torn Lands, the game is scheduled for release on Switch 2 sometime in 2027.

The sequel maintains the distinctive pixel art aesthetic that defined the original game while continuing its fantasy narrative. However, the developers have expanded the scope significantly, with improvements across multiple gameplay systems. The combat system has been redesigned and expanded to offer deeper tactical options, while the story now features two distinct factions that players must choose between, with these decisions substantially influencing the narrative experience.

Drova: Forsaken Kin was well-received as a niche indie RPG, and this sequel represents Just2D’s ambition to build upon that foundation. The emphasis on faction-based choices and story-driven gameplay suggests the developers are doubling down on what resonated with their audience while adding more mechanical depth.

As one of the first major RPG announcements for Switch 2, Drova II - Torn Lands represents continued support from indie developers for Nintendo’s new hardware.
