Leaks Suggest Fortnite Sprites Won’t Return For Chapter 8
Epic Games is reportedly discontinuing the Sprites system from Fortnite Chapter 7 when Chapter 8 launches in December. According to leaker Blortzen, while the extraction feature and Sprites will remain available during the mini-season concluding Chapter 7 (beginning November 1), the Sprite system itself will not carry forward into the next chapter.
Sprites were introduced in Chapter 7 as a new collectible mechanic, with each Sprite offering distinct effects and various rarity tiers. The feature has become popular with the player community since its introduction. However, despite this positive reception, leaks indicate Epic Games has decided to retire the system.
The decision to remove Sprites represents a shift in Fortnite’s seasonal content strategy. While the extraction feature will continue, the discontinuation of the Sprite collecting system suggests Epic Games may be exploring different collectible mechanics or gameplay elements for Chapter 8.
