Marvel Rivals Officially Brings Avengers: Endgame’s Final Fight to Life

NetEase has unveiled gameplay footage for Marvel Rivals’ new “Path to Doomsday - Avengers: Endgame” PvE mode, a significant departure from the game’s standard 6v6 competitive format. The mode accommodates up to 50 players in a cooperative battle against Thanos, who has been reimagined at Giant-Man-sized proportions for the encounter.

The new mode recreates the climactic final battle from Avengers: Endgame, with players controlling iconic heroes including Captain America and Iron Man as they face off against Thanos’ legion on a desolate battlefield adjacent to a destroyed Avengers Tower. The environment closely mirrors the film’s iconic scene.

Thanos presents a formidable challenge, wielding a massive dual-bladed sword capable of instantly eliminating players. His imposing size and devastating melee attacks require coordinated effort from all 50 players to overcome. The gameplay has been compared to a multiplayer version of Dynasty Warriors, emphasizing fast-paced combat with large enemy forces and spectacular action sequences.

This cooperative PvE mode represents NetEase’s expansion of Marvel Rivals’ gameplay scope beyond its traditional competitive balance. The mode allows players to recreate and experience one of the MCU’s most memorable cinematic moments firsthand, leveraging the franchise’s popularity to offer narrative-driven cooperative content alongside the game’s existing multiplayer offerings.
