Pokémon TCG Pocket Dual Fusion Set Revealed

The Pokémon Company has announced Dual Fusion, a major new expansion coming to Pokémon TCG Pocket on October 28. This release marks the debut of dual-type cards in the mobile game—a significant addition that brings the digital version closer to the physical trading card game.

Dual-type cards feature Pokémon with two types instead of one, opening up new strategic possibilities for players. A key example is Mega Mewtwo X ex, which combines Psychic and Fighting types. While dual-type cards have existed in the physical Pokémon TCG for years, this is their first appearance in the mobile game.

The expansion launches during TCG Pocket’s second anniversary, making the timing thematically appropriate. In addition to the new card types, the expansion will feature special packs and anniversary-themed events. The trailer teased several notable cards, including Pikachu EX, Mew EX, Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, and Mega Dragonite EX alongside the dual-type offerings.

Interestingly, this announcement arrives just days after the developers revealed plans to slow down the rate of new content releases for the game. Despite that statement, the Dual Fusion expansion represents the studio’s next major update, rolling out on October 28 at 6:00 p.m.
