Red Rising, the acclaimed six-book science fiction series by Pierce Brown, is officially returning in 2027. Originally published in the early 2010s, the dystopian saga follows Darrow, a lowborn Red who becomes a revolutionary leader against a rigid, color-coded class system on Mars. Drawing parallels to The Hunger Games, Red Rising trades Earth’s arena setting for an extraplanetary world where Gold-class elites dominate lower color-class citizens in a structured hierarchy.
The franchise has maintained cultural presence through various adaptations over the years. In 2021, designer Jamey Stegmaier of Stonemaier Games released a tabletop adaptation of the series, introducing the Red Rising universe to board game enthusiasts and reigniting interest in the original literary property.
