COD: Modern Warfare 4 DMZ players are spawning in the middle of a road and being flattened before they can do anything
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s DMZ extraction mode is experiencing a significant spawn bug affecting the early access experience. Infinity Ward opened early access to DMZ for players who pre-ordered the game, allowing them to play both the campaign and DMZ modes. While early reception to the extraction mode has been generally positive, a notable issue is plaguing multiple players.
The problem occurs with spawn placement on DMZ’s Hajin map. Unlike traditional Call of Duty multiplayer modes, the extraction shooter’s spawns are designed to appear at random locations on the edges of the map, far from immediate combat to give players time to prepare. However, some players are spawning directly in the middle of roads, leaving them exposed and unable to react before being eliminated. This defect can end rounds instantly for affected players before they can take any action.
The spawn system relies on multiple random spawn points across the Hajin map to provide varied gameplay experiences. The intention behind edge-of-map spawning is to give players time to prepare and move into position before encountering enemy fire. When spawns malfunction and place players in high-traffic areas, it negates this design principle entirely, creating a frustrating early-access experience that undermines the testing period.
Infinity Ward will likely need to address this spawn issue promptly to maintain player satisfaction and ensure the DMZ mode launches smoothly.
