Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown – DLC Features Overview Trailer
Pearl Abyss has revealed the full feature set for Crimson Desert’s first major DLC expansion, Charting the Unknown, arriving October 29 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games Store.
The expansion adds substantial new content to the base game, which launched in March. Three new character-focused storylines will follow playable characters Kliff, Damiane, and Oongka as they embark on separate journeys after the events of the main campaign. These narratives promise cinematic storytelling through cutscenes and will introduce both new allies and threats.
Charting the Unknown introduces several major new systems including ocean exploration and shipbuilding mechanics, romance options for characters, expanded housing features, and business management gameplay. Developers characterize the expansion as notably ambitious in scope, delivering more features and systems than the base game update cycle has previously offered.
The DLC was originally scheduled for an earlier release date but Pearl Abyss postponed it by two weeks to ensure “a more polished and stable gameplay experience.” The developer has maintained a pattern of significant post-launch support since the game’s March release.
Players who pre-order Charting the Unknown will receive exclusive bonus content in the form of the “Charter’s and Charter’s Light Diving Sets.” The expansion represents a substantial evolution of Crimson Desert’s open-world action-adventure experience.
