Diablo Is Getting A New Board Game, And You Can Play It Solo
Blizzard Entertainment has announced Diablo: Unbound, an officially licensed cooperative board game adaptation developed by Glass Cannon Unplugged, the studio behind tabletop versions of Don’t Starve, Dying Light, and Apex Legends. Revealed at Spiel Essen, the world’s largest board game event, Diablo: Unbound will launch on the Gamefound crowdfunding platform in Q1 2027.
The board game is designed as a “dungeon battler” supporting 1-4 players, including solo play options. Players select from iconic Diablo classes like the Rogue and Barbarian, choosing their dungeon, enemies, and boss encounters as they progress through the game’s three acts, each containing three dungeon levels. The gameplay features hack-and-slash combat mechanics inspired by the video game series, with players battling hordes of monsters, defeating bosses, and collecting increasingly powerful gear to strengthen their champions.
Described as a “highly replayable” cooperative action game, Diablo: Unbound aims to capture the strategic depth and challenging combat of Blizzard’s video games in tabletop form. The crowdfunding campaign will offer typical Gamefound incentives including stretch goals, exclusive rewards, and additional unlockable content.
The board game announcement is part of a broader expansion of the Diablo franchise, following the reveal of Diablo 5 at BlizzCon 2026 and an upcoming Netflix animated series based on the IP.
