Don’t Worry, You’re Not The Only One Dying Too Much In Modern Warfare 4’s Campaign

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches this week with its campaign and DMZ mode already in early access. Developed by Infinity Ward, the game delivers what the studio describes as an epic conclusion to its Modern Warfare reboot saga. The campaign consists of 16 missions that showcase the franchise’s signature gameplay variety, including stealth operations, cinematic chase sequences, and tactical breach-and-clear scenarios featuring slow-motion effects.

The game also introduces melee-style boss encounters that require players to execute well-timed parrying to survive, adding a more skill-based, physical combat element alongside traditional gunplay. While the campaign is designed to showcase the reboot’s narrative and gameplay innovations, players are discovering that even the normal difficulty setting presents a substantial challenge. This difficulty curve suggests Infinity Ward has tuned the campaign to provide a genuine test of skill, rather than a straightforward cinematic experience.
