First Permanent Pokémon Store Outside Asia to Open in London by 2029

The Pokémon Company has announced plans to open its first permanent retail store outside Asia in London by 2029, marking a significant expansion of the brand’s physical retail presence. Currently, The Pokémon Company operates 23 Pokémon Center locations in Japan, with additional permanent stores in Singapore and Taiwan, with another opening in Thailand by the end of 2026. Outside of these regions, fans have primarily relied on the online Pokémon Center store for merchandise.

The London store will serve as the flagship for a broader international expansion, with The Pokémon Company stating this location will be “the first of several permanent Pokémon stores that are planned to launch outside of Asia.” The store will offer exclusive merchandise and “one-of-a-kind experiences for Trainers of all ages,” creating a destination for both long-time fans and newcomers to the brand.

Gaku Susai, chief product and experience Officer at The Pokémon Company International, emphasized the company’s commitment to creating memorable fan experiences. The exact location within London has not yet been announced. The store is expected to feature community spaces alongside retail merchandise, positioning it as more than just a shopping destination and reflecting the company’s efforts to expand physical Pokémon retail in Western markets.
