Rayman Legends Retold’s New Baguette Costumes Are A Tip Of The Beret To Expedition 33

Rayman Legends Retold, the upcoming remake of the beloved platformer, features new cosmetic costumes inspired by fellow French game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The additions include baguette-themed outfits for protagonist Rayman and his partner Barbara, created as a tribute between two French video game studios.

While Ubisoft didn’t explicitly name Sandfall Interactive or Expedition 33 in their official announcement, they confirmed the costumes represent “a playful nod to a fellow game” developed in Montpellier. The company described the tributes as “Conceived as a tribute from one French studio to another,” celebrating the creativity and passion of France’s gaming industry on the global stage.

Rayman Legends Retold marks a significant visual overhaul of the original Rayman Legends, bringing enhanced graphics alongside new cosmetic additions like these French-themed outfits. The cross-studio gesture highlights the collaborative spirit within France’s game development community and serves as recognition of both studios’ contributions to the medium.
