Stephen King Responds as Carrie Renewed for Second Season on Prime Video
Prime Video has officially renewed Mike Flanagan’s Carrie for a second season, Amazon announced on October 22. The contemporary adaptation of Stephen King’s debut novel will continue with both Flanagan and King returning for the upcoming season.
Since its early October debut, Carrie has become a major streaming success, claiming the number-one position on Prime Video across more than 105 countries. The show has resonated with both longtime Stephen King fans and new audiences, earning strong critical and audience reception.
According to Amazon MGM Studios, Carrie’s story is far from over, with “much more in store” for viewers. The second season will explore uncharted territory following the dramatic conclusion of season one, featuring new character revelations, major character arcs, and surprising twists. The continuation was always envisioned as part of showrunner Flanagan’s long-term creative plan for the modern interpretation of King’s classic novel.
