Battlefield 1’s Jack Lowden Is One Of The Finalists For New James Bond, Apparently

The hunt for the next James Bond actor is entering its final phase. Amazon MGM Studios is conducting final screen tests this week to select Daniel Craig’s successor, over five years after Craig’s final appearance in “No Time to Die.” According to reports from Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is holding comprehensive auditions, with at least four actors being tested through screen tests that began as early as Friday and will continue through the coming days.

The confirmed finalists include British actor Jack Lowden, Callum Turner (known for “Masters of the Air”), and Josh O’Connor (from “Disclosure Day”). A fourth candidate remains unnamed, though there has been speculation about additional actors in consideration. Jacob Elordi was rumored as a potential contender, but The Hollywood Reporter confirmed he is not participating in the final tests. Similarly, actor Jack O’Connell has also been ruled out.

The final auditions were originally scheduled earlier in October but were rescheduled. According to insiders, six actors were initially on the broader shortlist before the field was narrowed to these finalists. Industry observers expect the casting announcement to be finalized before the end of 2026, as Amazon MGM Studios seeks to move forward with production on the next Bond film.
