Cyberpunk 2077 received its surprise 2.5 update with significant new features including a dual-wielding playstyle, expanded character customization options for protagonist V, and additional quests. However, developer CD Projekt Red secretly included a range of The Witcher 3-themed cosmetics and weapons as Easter eggs, bridging the two franchises.
The hidden Witcher 3 items discovered by players include the Boar Carver, a small knife reminiscent of Geralt’s trophy-taking blade from The Witcher 3, and the Sihil Sword, an ornate weapon featuring ancient writing along its shaft. Additionally, players found the Professor spectacles that Geralt wears in The Witcher 3, along with other cosmetic items.
This addition continues CD Projekt Red’s pattern of connecting its two major gaming franchises through cross-promotional content. The 2.5 update represents a surprise return to supporting Cyberpunk 2077 after the company appeared to be moving on from the game, demonstrating the developer’s ongoing commitment to enriching the Night City experience.
