G2 Throw DK Lead and End LEC’s Undefeated LoL Worlds Run
G2 Esports ended the League Championship Series’ undefeated streak at LoL Worlds 2026 with a shocking loss to Dplus KIA, the LCK’s fourth seed. Despite holding what appeared to be a comfortable lead throughout the early game, G2 failed to capitalize and allowed DK to mount an impressive comeback victory.
The loss is particularly disappointing for G2, who entered the tournament as LEC Champions with high expectations. Polymarket predictions now give the team only a 4% chance of winning the championship, raising concerns about their tournament prospects moving forward. The defeat suggests G2 may already be facing significant difficulties in the competition.
Despite the setback, other LEC representatives showed strong performance at Worlds. Movistar KOI impressed with a victory over BLG, while Karmine Corp secured a notable win against LPL Champions Anyone’s Legend. Meanwhile, Dplus KIA, though relieved to secure the comeback victory, will likely remain unsatisfied with their overall performance in the match.
