Graphics card wholesale prices are on the rise once again in China, so it’s time to brace yourself for even more GPU pricing pain

Graphics card wholesale prices are climbing again in China, signaling potential price increases for consumers worldwide. According to hardware outlet ChannelGate, RTX 50-series graphics cards have experienced notable cost increases in the Chinese wholesale market.

The NVIDIA RTX 5080 (16 GB) saw the most significant jump, rising approximately 2,000 CNY (around $300 USD), pushing current wholesale spot prices to 14,500-15,000 yuan, or roughly $2,171-$2,246 when converted to dollars. The RTX 5070 Ti experienced a more modest but still notable increase of around 600 CNY ($90 USD).

These wholesale price movements are closely watched by the industry as early indicators of retail pricing trends. With retail graphics card prices already experiencing substantial increases in recent months, the wholesale market uptick suggests consumers may face further pricing pressures in the coming weeks. The Chinese wholesale market is particularly significant for price forecasting because it often precedes broader global pricing adjustments.

For consumers already struggling with premium GPU costs, these wholesale increases represent another headwind for PC gaming hardware affordability. The price spikes appear to affect NVIDIA’s latest generation RTX 50-series cards, which are in high demand following their release.
