Sims Competitor InZoi Deletes “Uncomfortable” Post After Fan Pushback
InZoi, a life-simulation game developed by Krafton, was once heralded as a potential competitor to The Sims franchise—a promising alternative for players frustrated with EA’s aggressive monetization strategies in The Sims 4. However, the game’s rocky early-access period, combined with community concerns over its liberal use of AI-generated content, created a challenging start that the developer has spent the past year and a half addressing.
Despite these efforts to improve the game and address player feedback, Krafton encountered fresh criticism today. The official InZoi social media account posted an image depicting a bald man in a leather coat watching children at a playground, accompanied by the caption: “Just a peaceful day at the playground. Nothing unusual here… just ignore the bald guy” alongside an eyes emoji. The post was widely perceived as inappropriate and made players uncomfortable due to its uncomfortable implications.
In response to immediate fan backlash, Krafton promptly deleted the post. The incident represents another setback for InZoi as it works toward a full commercial release, compounding existing concerns about the game’s direction and the developer’s judgment. The controversy underscores the challenges the title faces in rebuilding community trust after its troubled launch period.
