KPop Demon Hunters Is Getting Yet Another Immersive Gaming Experience in Early 2027
Netflix and Immersive Gamebox are partnering to create a new interactive experience based on the hit animated series KPop Demon Hunters. The immersive gaming experience will launch in select U.S. locations starting in January 2027.
The experience blends physical interactivity with advanced technology, featuring 3D motion tracking, projection mapping, touch-sensitive walls, and spatial audio. Rather than using cumbersome VR headsets, the experience employs lightweight motion-tracking headsets that allow players to move freely and react naturally to their surroundings.
Before gameplay begins, participants will create their own “Superfan” avatar styled after the animated series. Once in-game, players embark on a guided quest led by character HUNTR/X, tasked with protecting the Honmoon while exploring familiar locations from the show. The experience emphasizes group collaboration and teamwork to complete interactive challenges.
This partnership marks another expansion of the KPop Demon Hunters franchise beyond its original streaming format, bringing the fictional universe to life through location-based entertainment. The offering reflects the growing trend of entertainment properties extending into immersive physical experiences, blending digital gaming elements with real-world interaction.
