How to Truce in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 DMZ

Modern Warfare 4’s new DMZ extraction mode introduces a Truce system designed to provide players with non-combat alternatives in a PvP-focused environment. The mode currently lacks a full Player-versus-Environment option, meaning players constantly face the risk of engagement with hostile operators. To address this, Infinity Ward has implemented an in-game Truce mechanic that allows players to propose peaceful agreements with enemy teams.

Players can initiate a Truce proposal using the Ping Wheel, the same communication tool used for marking enemy locations and coordinating with teammates. When a player submits a Truce proposal, enemy operators receive a notification and can choose to accept or decline the offer. This feature adds a diplomatic element to DMZ’s high-stakes extraction gameplay, allowing players to negotiate temporary peace rather than resort to gunfire.

The Truce system reflects a player preference for varied gameplay experiences within competitive modes, accommodating those who want to minimize PvP conflict or focus on PvE objectives like extraction and loot collection.
