Stolen RTX 5090 from Brazilian airport forklift heist reportedly turns up on second hand market for $6,400, but the rest remain AWOL

A shipment of Nvidia RTX 5090 graphics cards stolen from a Brazilian airport has partially resurfaced on the second-hand market. One of the missing units was discovered for sale on OLX, a popular Brazilian online marketplace, listed at R$32,000 (approximately $6,400). The card’s serial number matches one of the units from the original theft, confirming its identity through manufacturer tracking.

The heist involved two pallets of the high-end graphics cards, making it a significant theft of valuable electronics. The discovery of the GPU on the second-hand marketplace was reported by Brazilian news channel Jornal da Band and subsequently covered by gaming media outlets.

The RTX 5090 is among the most sought-after and expensive graphics cards currently available, commanding premium prices at retail. The below-market pricing on the second-hand listing suggests the thief or fence is attempting to liquidate the stolen product quickly. However, the presence of serial numbers on the cards means they are traceable, which complicates efforts to sell the equipment through legitimate channels without detection by authorities or retailers.

While one card has surfaced, the majority of the stolen inventory from the two pallets remains unaccounted for. The incident highlights vulnerabilities in the security of high-value electronics shipments at transportation hubs and raises questions about airport security protocols protecting valuable cargo.
