The Witcher’s Geralt Officially Returns for New Adventure

Author Andrzej Sapkowski has confirmed he is working on the next book in The Witcher series, with completion expected by the end of 2027. The upcoming novel will once again star Geralt, the franchise’s iconic monster hunter, continuing the literary saga that inspired not only the acclaimed video game trilogy from CD Projekt Red but also Netflix’s live-action adaptation.

At a convention appearance in Poland, Sapkowski clarified his creative direction for the series, stating that he does not intend to write Witcher books centered on other major characters such as Yennefer of Vengerberg. This reaffirms his commitment to keeping Geralt at the heart of the book series moving forward.

The announcement comes amid a busy period for The Witcher franchise in gaming, with CD Projekt Red having plans for a full remaster of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the DLC expansion Songs of the Past, and the forthcoming The Witcher 4, which is expected to release in 2028. Sapkowski’s new book will add to the expanding Witcher universe across multiple media.
