Stillfront’s new boss is former EA, King and Embark exec Marcus Jacobs
Swedish game publisher Stillfront has appointed Marcus Jacobs as its new president and group CEO, effective November 1, 2026. Jacobs succeeds Alexis Bonte in the role and will be based in Stillfront’s Stockholm headquarters.
Jacobs brings over 25 years of experience in the games industry. His career includes serving as director of monetization at Electronic Arts, followed by a seven-year tenure at King Digital Entertainment. Most recently, he served as chief commercial officer of Embark Studios from 2020 to 2022. He has been a member of Stillfront’s board since 2022.
Stillfront, a Swedish roll-up company that owns multiple game studios, operates popular titles including Supremacy, Empire, BitLife, and Albion Online. The appointment comes as Stillfront reported its third-quarter 2026 financial results, which showed challenging performance: net revenue declined 1% to SEK 1,291 million, while profits fell 16% compared to the same period last year.
Jacobs’ monetization expertise appears targeted at addressing the company’s recent financial headwinds. His appointment signals Stillfront’s focus on improving profitability and optimizing revenue streams across its diverse portfolio of mobile and online games.
