Auroch Digital lays off a quarter of its staff
Auroch Digital has announced a redundancy consultation process affecting approximately 25% of its workforce. The studio, known for recent successes including Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 and Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War!, attributed the layoffs to challenging market conditions impacting the broader gaming industry.
Despite praising the creative achievements and positive player reception of its recent releases, Auroch Digital acknowledged being affected by the same economic headwinds facing many other developers. The company’s management expressed being “immensely proud” of the team’s work while also conveying deep regret about the necessity of restructuring operations.
The announcement, made on October 26, reflects an ongoing trend in the gaming sector where numerous studios have undergone workforce reductions in response to uncertain market conditions and evolving player spending patterns. Auroch Digital’s restructuring represents the studio’s effort to adapt to these challenging industry circumstances.
