ENCE Files For Bankruptcy
ENCE, a Finnish esports organization, has filed for bankruptcy after 13 years competing in the esports industry. The company, officially ENCE eSports Oy, announced the decision through a social media statement, marking the end of the organization’s competitive presence.
Throughout its tenure, ENCE established itself as a notable competitor in several major esports titles, most notably Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and StarCraft II. Despite having fewer resources than many larger esports organizations, ENCE achieved Tier 1 level performance and made significant contributions to the competitive gaming scene.
The board of directors cited difficult circumstances in their decision to file for bankruptcy. In their statement, ENCE expressed gratitude to players, staff, and partners who contributed to the organization, while also acknowledging the fanbase’s support throughout the organization’s victories and defeats.
This closure represents another significant change in the esports landscape, as established organizations continue to face financial and operational challenges in an increasingly competitive industry. ENCE’s 13-year presence leaves a legacy in competitive gaming, particularly within the Counter-Strike and real-time strategy communities.
