Marvel Casts ‘Game of Thrones’ Star for New ‘X-Men’ Movie, Report Says
Marvel has reportedly cast Irish actor Peter Claffey as Beast in its 2028 X-Men reboot, according to Knight Edge Media. Claffey, best known for his role as Sir Duncan in HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, brings experience from both professional rugby and a recent stage and television career. He graduated from Bow Street Academy for Screen Acting in 2020 and has appeared in productions including Bad Sisters, where he played Joe Walsh.
Charles Melton had been considered for the role but withdrew to focus on his commitment to play Kakashi Hatake in the Naruto live-action adaptation. The casting comes as Marvel prepares for its upcoming X-Men film, which follows the studio’s next major event film Avengers: Doomsday.
