Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced’s final major update adds long-awaited New Game Plus, new Nightmare difficulty and much more

Ubisoft has released the final major content update for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced on October 27, 2026. Update 1.0.8 introduces New Game Plus mode as its headline feature, allowing players to replay the game’s main story while retaining earned items, upgrades, and unlocked weapons. The mode supports up to five playthroughs.

In addition to New Game Plus, the update adds a new Nightmare difficulty setting and includes easter eggs and throwbacks to the original Assassin’s Creed Black Flag game. The patch also contains various gameplay adjustments and quality-of-life improvements.

The update is available across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. File sizes vary by platform, ranging from 2 to 4.5GB on most systems, though the Xbox version is significantly larger at 15.5GB. The patch rolled out at 7am PT / 10am ET / 2pm UK.

Ubisoft confirmed that this represents the end of major content development for the remake. While future updates will continue to be released, they will focus solely on quality-of-life improvements rather than new features or gameplay modes.

Black Flag Resynced, which launched in July 2026, has been well-received by both critics and players, earning an 83 rating on Metacritic. The remake has maintained an active player base since its release, with the development team addressing community feedback throughout the year with smaller updates before this final substantial content patch.
