New Cyberpunk 2 Job Listing Further Supports Multiplayer Mode
CD Projekt Red has posted new job listings for Cyberpunk 2 that further confirm the sequel will feature a multiplayer component. The postings seek developers with experience in “multiplayer network architecture and client-server synchronization for game state/quests,” marking the latest indication that the studio is committed to adding online multiplayer to its follow-up to the wildly successful 2077.
This follows similar job postings from September 2025 that hinted at multiplayer implementation in the sequel. While the original Cyberpunk 2077 was a single-player experience, the presence of AI companion Johnny Silverhand provided players with something approximating a co-op dynamic throughout the game.
The shift toward multiplayer for Cyberpunk 2 marks a significant departure from the original formula, suggesting CD Projekt Red intends to build upon its open-world foundation while introducing new collaborative gameplay possibilities. Whether this multiplayer focus will enhance or dilute the experience remains to be seen, but the developer’s consistent hiring efforts signal that online functionality is more than speculative—it’s a core development priority for the upcoming sequel.
