Godzilla Minus Zero Director’s Upcoming Giant Robot Movie First Cast Members Revealed
Takashi Yamazaki, the director of Godzilla Minus Zero, is developing Grandgear, a mech action film that marks his first English-language production. Originally announced in 2024, the project has now revealed its initial cast members.
Actors Sam Nivola and Nico Parker have been confirmed for the film. Nivola is recognized for his work in The White Lotus, while Parker gained attention for her role alongside Woody Harrelson in Suncoast, earning a Breakthrough Performance Award at the Sundance Film Festival. Paul Giamatti, a veteran actor with a three-decade career including a Golden Globe and multiple Academy Award nominations, is in negotiations to join the cast. Giamatti is also attached to the upcoming film The Debut.
