Polygon has published a guide featuring eight essential tips for DMZ beginners. The tips are designed to help new players increase their survival rates and successful extraction percentage by understanding core mechanics and economies that differ from competitors in the extraction shooter space.
One highlighted tip addresses item management. Unlike other extraction shooters such as Arc Raiders, where items tagged “valuable” can be sold for currency without consequence, Modern Warfare 4’s DMZ treats valuable items differently. In MW4, these items may be required for crafting recipes or progression projects, making them significantly more valuable to retain than to sell. This distinction represents an important economic difference that can determine whether players progress efficiently or waste opportunities.
