Nvidia may not have discontinued the RTX 5090, but one AIB partner says it can’t get hold of the parts required to make the card

Nvidia’s RTX 5090 graphics card remains officially in production despite recent discontinuation rumors, yet AIB partners report being unable to obtain the components needed to manufacture it. The card vanished from Nvidia’s official marketplace last month, fueling speculation about its discontinuation. Nvidia subsequently denied these claims, confirming the product continues in active production.

However, according to statements provided to YouTuber Der8auer by an Nvidia AIB partner, while Nvidia has not formally declared the RTX 5090 end-of-life, the companies responsible for designing and manufacturing Nvidia graphics cards cannot currently purchase the GB202 GPU chip required to build the card. This creates an unusual situation where the product is not officially discontinued but is effectively unavailable for production due to supply constraints.

The RTX 5090, already commanding premium pricing before these supply issues emerged, remains inaccessible to consumers despite Nvidia’s public position on its continued production. The statements from AIB partners suggest potential complications in the GPU supply chain or selective distribution decisions by Nvidia, creating a disconnect between the card’s official status and its actual market availability.
