“This is a serious incident” - Kingdom Come: Deliverance developer Warhorse suffers cyberattack

Warhorse Studios, the Czech-based developer behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance and an upcoming Lord of the Rings RPG, has confirmed it was targeted by a “serious” cyberattack. The attack resulted in unauthorized access to company systems and data, though the full extent of the breach remains under investigation and will likely take considerable time to determine.

CEO Martin Frývaldský issued a statement characterizing the incident as “serious” and outlining the studio’s immediate priorities: securing computer systems, establishing the full scope of the breach, and protecting employees, partners, and the broader community. He emphasized that Warhorse is dedicating resources to address the situation comprehensively.

The studio is working with cybersecurity experts and has contacted relevant authorities to investigate the incident. Warhorse has indicated it will not be conducting interviews or providing updates during the active investigation phase, instead committing to share information as soon as it can do so responsibly.

To date, no data leaks have been reported publicly, though the investigation is ongoing. The potential exposure could include unreleased game assets, internal documents, marketing plans, or other proprietary project details. Warhorse Studios joins a growing list of game development companies that have experienced significant cyberattacks in recent years.
