I Spied on the WoW: Forever Beta as an Invisible God with the Blizzard Devs Who Made It
Blizzard Entertainment invited press to experience the final day of the World of Warcraft: Forever beta test on live servers. The new game represents the company’s reimagining of the classic 2004-vintage World of Warcraft, bringing a fresh perspective to the original MMO that launched over two decades ago.
During the session, journalists observed bustling player activity across key locations like the village of Goldshire and the gates of Stormwind, with streams of players moving across the landscape. The development team showcased new content, including Super Hogger, a kaiju-sized boss version of the iconic low-level elite gnoll enemy, along with other enhanced versions of familiar creatures and areas.
Players participating in the beta were boosted to level 30, the current maximum cap for testing. To provide unobstructed observation, the journalist was rendered invisible in-game, allowing them to tour the development team’s work and interact with the live beta servers during this milestone testing phase without disrupting other players’ experiences.
