GOG’s getting into publishing in its new, post-CD-Projekt life, and it already has games on the way
GOG, the DRM-free digital storefront that separated from CD Projekt in January 2026, is officially entering game publishing. The newly independent platform has partnered with Retrovibe, an independent publisher, to launch “Retrovibe by GOG,” a new initiative designed to support independent developers in bringing their games to PC storefronts and console platforms.
The announcement comes as part of GOG’s strategy in its post-CD Projekt era. In January, GOG cofounder Michał Kiciński indicated the company was exploring several new directions following its split from CD Projekt, with publishing among the planned moves. This partnership with Retrovibe marks the company’s formal entry into game publishing, expanding beyond its established role as a digital distribution platform.
The initiative aims to provide indie developers with support in releasing games across multiple storefronts and console platforms, though specific titles and launch timelines were not detailed in the announcement.
